DEAR BFT FRIEND,

Every year around this time, we think about you. Dr. Waite and I, along with our whole staff, are thankful for your care and prayer. Wish we could drive right up to your place and have a "face to face" visit. Remember the Apostle John when he wrote to Gaius, whom he loved in the truth? How he wanted to speak with his friend "face to face" (3 JOHN 14)! I wonder what you are doing and how you are. I’m ashamed that I don’t know you better. You have been so kind and generous to us. You’ve contributed to our ministry, you’ve ordered books and pamphlets, and you’ve been on our web page. Thank you. Thank you, for being you!

How well do I remember thirty-eight years ago when we moved on our street. My husband and I came to Collingswood bringing four children to our big brick home. Soon I would have my fifth child! We Waites were ready and waiting to settle on Park Avenue--a place where we could serve the Lord with gladness. Little did we know then, that God would use our big brick home for such a complicated Bible ministry of writing, editing, publishing, and shipping.

Since coming to Collingswood, we have known joys, have traveled all over the world, and met interesting people. But there have been heartaches behind our doors, too. Did you think you were the only ones with disappointments? Illnesses? Exhaustion? Deaths? Yet, in all of this we have found God’s grace sufficient. And, DEAR FRIEND, it is. My husband has written and published so many books that you’d be bored if I told you about them. He has three weekly radio programs on various stations. We have mailing lists that go around the world and back. I have a radio program that gives me an outlet for my Christian concerns for women today. (My, how our standards of behavior and dress have fallen!) And--Of course, you know about our Bible publishing! And our house church! It has opened so many doors we never dreamed of when we started it five years ago. Who would have thought all this would be our life when we moved into 900 Park Avenue in 1965! THE LORD KNEW!

So, we want to thank you for being you. Thank you for your gift-offerings to our work. There are always financial needs. One of our biggest is the weekly salaries for our staff. My husband and I take nothing monetary for ourselves. So, I am not asking for me; but I do ask for others--and our bills. Just because we are not on a foreign field doesn’t mean that we aren’t a mission field! It’s not the ocean waters that make a missionary. It is the heart! Jesus said to look on the fields. They were the fields right there in front of them--not overseas or around the corner. Our field is the BIBLE FOR TODAY! Where is yours?

FACE TO FACE! O BLISSFUL MOMENT!
