THESE ARE PERILOUS TIMES!
CHRISTIANS MUST BE VIGILANT
Be not thou therefore ashamed of the testimony of our
Lord, nor of me his prisoner; But be thou partaker of the afflictions of
the gospel according to the power of God.

Dear friend of the BFT,
" I’ll GO WHERE YOU WANT ME TO GO, DEAR LORD! "
Are you sometimes at "sixes &
sevens"? I’m not sure what that means, but I
think it means that everything is upside down, confused, jumbled, and
there’s too much to do. When we were first married, I looked forward to
receiving mail. Did you? Hardly any mail came except a letter from my
mother who faithfully wrote to us weekly, as well as, letters often from
my husband’s mother. Then, there were the occasional bills, etc. Another
anomaly was I had no rags! What was I supposed to use to clean with? Now
we get so much mail that I have piles of it all over the house; and, we
have so many rags, I could be a rag woman.
Now don’t get me wrong--we love
hearing from you; but, I’m talking about all
those news sheets, magazines, and papers that we don’t subscribe to. I
feel duty-bound to read them--just in case there is something important.
Often I see my husband’s name in them.
Yes, we need your financial
support. Mostly that comes through the mail or
via phone and credit card. Yes, we need you. WE NEED YOUR MAIL!! It
is only by your caring for us that we can continue financiing our BIBLE FOR TODAY ministry. My husband is not one of those who asks for funds all the time.
That’s good. If there is something that is disturbing to me, it is to be
dunned for money at every turn. Some churches never stop talking about
their financial needs, and some Bible teachers and/or evangelists
continually speak of it. They hawk their books ad nauseam. You know what I
mean, I’m sure. Some of our friends,
maybe you are one of them, support us every month--a faithful amount every
month, $5, $10, $50, $100. It doesn’t have to be much, just consistent.
Do you know how nice that is for the ministry?
We can count on that financial gift--we really can--just like the sun
rising every morning. I say to my husband, "If only more people would
care for THE BIBLE FOR TODAY
like the faithful, monthly contributors, we
could do so much more!"
THE WAITES INVITED TO SOUTH KOREA
NOVEMBER 8-15, 2004
PRAY, PRAY, PRAY
" O’ER MOUNTAIN, OR PLAIN, OR SEA "
I want to keep this UPDATE as
short as possible. My husband, Dr. Waite, and I are trying to get ready to
fly to SOUTH KOREA on November 8th, Lord willing. Yes, it is a surprise!
As I write this, I can hardly believe it myself. As soon as you read
this, please begin to pray for us daily.
FOR MANY YEARS, DR. JUNG, ONE OF OUR
CHURCH’S MISSIONARIES AND OUR KOREAN FRIEND, HAS WANTED DR. WAITE TO VISIT
KOREA AND TEACH THEM ABOUT THE KING JAMES BIBLE. Others whom we know have
gone there--like David Cloud of O Timothy magazine and Dr. Thomas
Strouse, the dean of Emmanuel Baptist Seminary in Newington, CT. My
husband was never "in the area" (ha!) to speak there. He does not have a
fountain of funds for traveling expenses. Many countries want him to come
and teach, but they can’t afford to bring him. When Dr. Jung said that his
SEOUL FIRST BAPTIST CHURCH, where he is Associate Pastor, was having their
sixth anniversary and they wanted Dr. Waite to be their anniversary
speaker, we said we would go. (Dr. Waite keeps none of the funds
personally that come in for his books, tapes, videos, or writings. It all
goes directly into the ministry. Some do. I don’t blame them. People do
have to eat, you
know. Evidently, we don’t eat that much! (Ha!)
BIBLE FOR TODAY BAPTIST CHURCH ORDAINED DR. JUNG
Now we know the Jungs fairly well. Whenever they are in the area
visiting her parents and children in Baltimore, they come to Collingswood
to see us. To be perfectly honest, some years we saw them more than our
own children. A few years ago, our BIBLE FOR TODAY BAPTIST CHURCH ordained
Dr. Jung to the gospel ministry. I want to tell you more about our
friendship and how our ministries care for each other--in fact, our church
financially supports him as he continues to work on his study edition of
the Korean King James Bible--but we have to wait until we return from
serving the Lord over there. Everything has happened so fast, that I have
not had time to get excited! Except I did get up early to write this
UPDATE. (There are so many interruptions during the daytime.)
MRS. WAITE GOING IN PLACE OF A "LOVE OFFERING"
Please pray for us! (I know I said that once!) The SEOUL FIRST
BAPTIST CHURCH is paying for our plane tickets. They said they would give
a "love" offering or I could come--one or the other. My husband wanted me
to be with him and I’d like to go, also. So having me there is the "love
offering." We’ve had to do many hurry-up-and-do-things like getting our
hepatitis A shots and we are on the typhoid pill regimen. We take one
pill every other day for four doses. We just made it in time to do these
medical things. We have to go to the drug store and purchase an antibiotic
in case we get a traveler’s infection. None of this is covered by our
insurance, as it is overseas--not even the doctor’s visit of $85.00!! He
was kind and only charged us for one patient. We also have to take care of
some legal matters--all that--and my husband has to prepare for fourteen
messages. He has already sent his 238 power-points over to Dr. Jung so he
can translate them into Korean. I’ve been asked to speak to the ladies.
They are going to decide on what. I hope I know the subject! Ha!
LESSON PLANS ALL PREPARED
MY HUSBAND WILL PRESENT A KING JAMES
BIBLE SEMINARY. MY HUSBAND HAS HIS TEACHING PLANS ALL SET-UP! (He’s really
a wonder!!) He’ll be teaching on Bible Preservation, the Superior Hebrew
Text, the Superior Greek Text, the Superior Translation Technique, and the
Superior Theology found in the King James Bible! WE WERE ONLY INVITED FOUR
DAYS AGO! PLEASE PRAY!!
ONLY ONE CHANCE
CHILDREN LEARN BY EXAMPLE
"I’LL SAY WHAT YOU WANT ME TO SAY, DEAR LORD"
Lately I’ve been thinking a lot about
examples--not arithmetic examples but the examples that children observe
in adults. I can’t tell you how many parents who have sacrificed for their
children to have a Christian education fail that very child in their home. I know parents who wouldn’t think of sending
their child to a public school, yet they portray nothing but selfishness,
laziness, lying, and worldliness in their homes. I know parents who are
divorced now who sacrificed to send their sons and daughters to a
Christian school. I’m thinking of a family whose children have gone to the
dogs, so to speak; yet they were educated in a Christian school! O yes!
The parents divorced each other, and married and divorced again--sometimes
not stopping for a marriage license. Those children are now
adults--perhaps even grandparents by now. They are lost in a sea of
worldliness and despair. What good was all that "Christian" education? The
failure was not in the school but in the home. It is the home where the
Christian precepts and principles are learned. It is in the home that a
child learns how to be a man or a woman. What kind of lessons are you
teaching in your home?
TEACHING HOW TO COPE WITH LIFE
Parents are teachers. Whether we
like it or not, we are teachers. We are teaching
our daughters how to be women, how to be submissive wives, and loving
mothers. We are teaching them how to be responsible sisters, wives,
mothers, and grandmothers. We are teaching our sons how to be godly
men--strong and bold--how to provide for the family, and protect it from
harm. We are teaching them how to be leaders in their homes, how to
provide financially, and how to love as Christ loved the Church and gave
Himself for it. We are teaching our little ones how to cope with life, how
to trust the LORD, and how to meet personal problems such as
disappointments, betrayals, deaths, and duties.
Life is not all roses and sunshine.
We must not pretend that it is. We must teach our children how to walk in
the rain and live among the thorns of life. Let’s face it! We only have one chance to instruct our daughters, as well
as, other young women with whom we come in contact. We only have one
chance to teach our sons to be manly and sexually faithful--only one
chance to show them how to stand tall in the midst of a crooked and
perverse generation. And, if we teach wrong, we cannot re-do it!
ONLY ONE CHANCE TO TEACH OBEDIENCE TO GOD
I had four sons and one daughter. I
only had one chance, or opportunity, to show the way to be a Christian
woman to my children. My husband had only once chance to exemplify manhood
to our sons. We only had one chance to teach
them to obey us so they would obey God. I only had one chance to show my
daughter how a Christian woman should dress in this wicked world, only one
chance, by example, to teach honesty and clean speech, proper grammar, as
well as forgiveness and submission to my husband.
I only had one chance to teach her how to
wash the dishes, make a bed, and sweep the floor--only one chance to show
her my love for her father, and thus teach her how to be a godly wife. Only one chance to show her, by example, my love
for her and the Word of God. Whether we like it or not, we are the main
text book that our children see and read.
WALK A LITTLE PLAINER, DADDY
(Author unknown)
Walk a little plainer, Daddy, said a little boy so frail
I’m following in your footsteps, and I don’t want to
fail
Sometimes your steps are very plain, sometimes they are
so hard to see
So walk a little plainer, Daddy, for you are leading me.
I know that once you walked this way many years ago
And what you did along the way I’d really like to know
For sometimes when I am tempted, I don’t know what to do
So walk a little plainer, Daddy, for I must follow you.
Someday when I’m grown up, you are like I want to be
Then I will have a little boy who will want to follow me
And I would want to lead him right and help him to be
true
So walk a little plainer, Daddy, for we must follow you.
SOME OF OUR RECENT LETTERS
FROM A RETIRED PASTOR
"I finished COLOSSIANS & PHILEMON VERSE BY VERSE (BFT
#2988BK @ $13.00 + $4.00 S&H) and now on the book of GALATIANS
VERSE BY VERSE (BFT #2955BK @ $13.00 + $4.00 S&H). I want you to
know how much I am enjoying the simple reading of your commentaries.
Every Pastor would profit much by having them in his library. It is
most refreshing to have you take up with a Greek word and explain it,
rather, as most do, than use it to correct the text. I am glad also,
having known you since 1979, for the little personal items that are
included. (Such as your dog "GYPPIE" purchased by your dad for fifty
cents when you were a boy.) I hope also that your books are in
bookstores. I think that they are pregnant with valuable outlines via
the Scripture you quote to establish the point you have just stated."
FROM RENO NEVADA
Concerning the topic, COUNTING CHRIST’S BLOOD
UNHOLY (Cf. the book, BFT #2185 @ $5.00 + $3.00 S&H)
"Pastor Waite, could you go into more of the "other gospel" aspect of
things? Remember, Jesus said that they would be teaching another gospel
not taught by His true people. I believe that is what is fueling this
horrendous act or "holy laughter" and the "Holy Ghost bartender," Benny
Hin, and those like him. The demons in the pulpit need to be outed. For
the sake of all who are searching for Jesus in these last days."
FROM WHITTIER, CALIFORNIA
"We sure enjoy watching all of
you in our new streaming. Almost feels as if we were there every time. Thank you
so much. . ."
FROM E-MAIL
"I want to express my great gratitude
to you for your tremendous and sacrificial labor on behalf of the
Church of Jesus Christ. I have benefited greatly from reading your
book DEFENDING THE KING JAMES BIBLE (BFT 1594P @
$12.00 +S&H) and have been doing my best to alert God’s people
to this gravest issue. I am truly stunned at the apathy of so
many, and more than a little startled at the remarkable ignorance
of so many who, out of hand, dismiss this as an issue, despite the
overwhelming evidence to the contrary. I am convinced that far too
many Christians simply do not know what is in their Bibles based
on their uncaring attitude. There is something truly sobering
about all this."

"Dr. Waite’s DECADES of detailed study marvelously deconstructs an
incompetent paraphrase purporting to be translation. Fascinating to
behold, in DETAILED point after point, DELETION of the original Greek
by IGNORING the words they have even in their corrupt text,
unwarranted ADDITION to the text, and speculative commentary
introducing into and supplanting translation. This is a work
purporting to be the very BEST of "translation." IF the "Hole-man"
version were honest, and admitted to paraphrase, there would be little
problem. And as Dr. Waite PROVES this work is riddled with "holes" as
if a bookworm had eaten thru it." You’ve got to get this series of
radio shows (1-3) and listen. It is RADIO TAPES #BFT/168-170 @ $9.00 +
$3.00 S&H, and/or the booklet HOLES IN THE HOLMAN BIBLE BFT
#2966 @ $4.00 + $2.00 S&H).
"Some of Waite’s BEST of MANY years of great radio shows exposing
our Laodicean age’s failed experiment with "improving" God’s Word.
"Hole-man’s" version reminds one of the forged letter flap in current
news: many are outraged that a fake was presented as fact: HOW MUCH
MORE should WE be OUTRAGED that these types of FAKES are pushed on an
unsuspecting public as being "the best" of current scholarship. Stick
with the KJ BIBLE!"

WHOOPS--I FORGOT THE DBS WOMEN
DBS WOMEN GATHERED FOR FELLOWSHIP
MANY STAND FAITHFULLY WITH THEIR MEN
" I’LL BE WHAT YOU WANT ME TO BE "
The last time I wrote you, I told
you all about the DEAN BURGON SOCIETY’S July 2004 meeting at Heritage
University in Greenwood, Indiana. It was a good time of fellowship and
instruction. BUT I forgot to mention our DEAN BURGON WOMEN’s meeting. We meet on Wednesday mornings every year while the
Executive Committee men gather in another room. This year was a precious
time. Mrs. Branine presided, Mrs. Carolyn
Reno told of the writing contest she and her husband
have sponsored for many years. If you have a teen- ager who is interested
in entering this contest, write or call me. The essays are on subjects
pertaining to the defense of the King James Bible and its underlying
texts. Barbara Guerrant,
a missionary with her husband for thirty-nine years to Papua New Guinea,
gave a testimony. Mrs. Russell Dennis,
Jr., the University president’s wife, prayed, as
well as Mrs. Donna Barnett
who brought Mrs. Jane Hollowood’s
needs before the Throne of God. (Remember I told you that her husband died
this past summer. (See the September/ October BFT UPDATE.) As an aside: Mrs Barnett’s husband, PASTOR
ROBERT BARNETT from Grayling, Michigan, had a serious motorcycle accident
a few weeks ago. It is only by the grace of God that
he was not killed.
MRS. WILLIAMS SPOKE OF A SYMPHONY OF PRAISE
Mrs. H. D. Williams gave a beautiful
devotional on GOD’S WORD IS A SYMPHONY OF PRAISE (BFT #3201/PW @
$4.00 + $1.00 S&H). She told how she’d heard
Brahms Symphony No 2 performed recently by the Atlanta Symphony
Orchestra. She said, "I did not realize at that time how God would use
that experience to give me a deeper understanding of His precious Word."
PATRICIA WILLIAMS’
DEVOTIONAL TEACHINGS HAVE BEEN A BLESSING TO US. Her talk is in writing,
also. Ask for it, sending a gift; or, better still, order THE
DBS WRITTEN MESSAGES FROM THE 26TH ANNUAL MEETING (BFT # 3200-P @
$20.00 (204 large pages) + $4.00 S&H). MANY OF THE 2004 MESSAGES
ARE IN THAT BOOK. It would be worth your reading time!
THE POLITICAL & RELIGIOUS CLIMATE THAT JUMP-STARTED THE KJB
I gave a review of part of the book,
GOD’S SECRETARIES, THE MAKING OF THE KING JAMES BIBLE. It was written
by Adam Nicolson. I saw him once on C-Span and
became interested in his work. A friend sent us the book last summer--so I
had no excuse not to read and review it. I called my talk THE POLITICAL &
RELIGIOUS CLIMATE THAT JUMP-STARTED THE KING JAMES BIBLE. This talk is on
video as well as Mrs. Williams’ speech, (BFT #3201 @ $15.00 + $5.00 S&H),
as well as mine on audio, too (BFT #3201/YSW @ $4.00 + $1.00 S&H).
We are on the same video.
My talk is in writing, too,
(BFT#3194 @$4.00 + $2.00 S&H), or in the DBS
MESSAGE BOOK FROM THE 26TH ANNUAL MEETING/2004 (BFT #3200-P @ $20.00 +
$5.00 S&H).
I
learned much by reading this
book--the behind the scenes
excitement that brought about the
King James Bible. I wrote the
following:
"One of the things that I liked about
this book is that the King James Bible TRANSLATORS were not made out
to be "holy men of God...moved by the Holy Ghost," as the writers of
Scripture were. The author availed himself of the few notes remaining
concerning the TRANSLATORS, as well as the translation process itself.
Sad to say, most of recorded information on the subject had been
burned in a horrific London Fire. Mr. Nicolson did not belittle the
TRANSLATORS or build them up with lofty praise. He just reported his
findings.
"I was impressed how the TRANSLATORS would
shut their eyes and listen to the sound of the words as they fell upon
their ears. The rhythm had to be right. Their new version had to
"sound" like God was speaking. Such a desire on their part, forced the
TRANSLATORS to reach back into a spoken English, long forsaken by the
man-on-the street of their day.
"Did you know that it was not the English that men spoke in 1611
either? We in our century have the King James Bible TRANSLATORS to
thank for funneling proper English into the hearts and minds of all
who have the language of learning that it is in the world today.
"AS I READ ABOUT THEIR LIVES, I
SAW THAT THE MEN WHO TRANSLATED THE KING JAMES BIBLE WERE JUST THAT:
TRANSLATORS."

LIVING WITH BRITTLE DIABETES
A SMALL BOOK BY WENDY KOCIK
BFT #3193 @ $3.00 + $1.00 S&H
Do you know someone who suffers
from diabetes? Let Wendy’s testimony help you in your fears and struggles
with the disease. She wrote :
"A brittle uncontrolled diabetic is someone who exhibits
frequent, rapid swings in glucose requirements without apparent
cause and has a pattern of plasma glucose control that fluctuates
erratically between marked hyperglycemia and frequent episodes of
symptomatic hypoglycemia."
Read Wendy’s story. Feel her
fears. See her trust in the Lord Jesus Christ during her struggles between
life and death. She wrote:
"In July of 1990, Rick and I went to Sturgis, South Dakota for
the 50th Harley-Davidson rally. We were there for two weeks. I was
having very high blood sugars. I didn’t understand why, so I
called my doctor. He told me to take two of the pills to bring my
blood sugars down, but that wasn’t working. This was the end of
the "honeymoon," as I was told. When I returned home I went to see
my doctor. I had to start insulin again. I have been on insulin
ever since. . . . I did not care what was going on in my life at
this point. I was living for myself and for my own pleasures. . ."
Later she became a Christian. She wrote:
"I just want to say again, living with brittle diabetes is
difficult; but it can be done with the Lord. My faith in Christ
has made living with brittle diabetes possible for me. . . . I am
new in Christ! Praise to God for my salvation! It doesn’t mean
that I don’t get down, but it is the Lord Jesus Christ who brings
me back up, and the Scripture that the Lord lays on my heart to
instruct and comfort me."
