Pray for the Bennetts in Australia as they with God's help and for His glory are seeking to establish: Western Plains Baptist Fellowship, and Gilgandra Baptist Fellowship as New Testament Baptist churches. |
With God's help and for His glory the Bennetts are seeking to establish: Western Plains Baptist Fellowship, and Gilgandra Baptist Fellowship into New Testament Baptist churches. Both of these Fellowships are located in New South Wales, Australia Western Plains Baptist Fellowship gathers each Sunday at 10 a.m. at the Buninyong Public School Hall in the city of Dubbo. Many visitors come and go, but they pass like two ships in the night. Many contacts have been made and thousands of gospel tracts, Gospels of John, and Epistles of Romans have been distributed. Many have been spoken to personally concerning their need for Christ. Others have read and commented about Dr. Bennett’s letters to the local paper. Most comments have been positive, a few have been negative. Pastor Bennett always seeks to give the gospel, no matter what the subject on which he is writing. Presently, we have four attending, but we rejoice that God is good and only requires our faithfulness. We know that He is faithful, so we leave the results with Him! Dubbo is 400 kilometers west of Sydney on the edge of the Australian outback. Dubbo is a city of almost forty thousand with two Baptist Union churches (similar to the Southern Baptist), Roman Catholic, Church of England, Assembly of God, Uniting church, Mormon, Jehovah Witnesses and an Islamic house of prayer, to name a few. Roman Catholicism is the predominant "Christian" denomina- tion. Dubbo and Australia do not need more "churches" but gospel-preaching, Christ-honoring, independent Baptist churches. Gilgandra Baptist Fellowship gathers as fellow-believers at 2:30 p.m. every second and fourth Sunday of the week at the Country Women’s Hall in the City of Gilgandra. This fellowship was started at the request of an aboriginal Christian man. Presently, six attend, with a few more off and on. One couple, originally from the high Church of England, professed Christ and were baptized two years ago. Gilgandra is a town of 2,900 souls.
