Pray for the Bennetts in Australia as they with God's help and for His glory are seeking to establish:
Western Plains Baptist Fellowship, and Gilgandra Baptist Fellowship as New Testament Baptist churches.
Dear Prayer Partners,
Psalm 40:2 "He brought me up also out of an horrible pit, out of the miry clay, and set my feet upon a rock, and established my goings." In The Treasury of David the Prince of preachers in commenting on Psalm 40: 2 said "What a comfort to know that Jesus our Lord and Saviour stands on a sure foundation in all that he is and does for us, and his goings forth in love are not liable to be cut short by failure in years to come, for God has fixed him firmly. He is for ever and eternally able to save unto the uttermost them that come unto God by him, seeing that in the highest heavens he ever liveth to make intercession for them. Jesus is the true Joseph taken from the pit to be Lord of all."
Proverbs 27:1 "Boast not thyself of to morrow; for thou knowest not what a day may bring forth." We received a telephone call early this morning, 3.30am Monday 2nd October, from our son Matthew, who lives in Polk City, Iowa. He telephoned to tell us a lifelong friend of ours had passed away. David went to elementary and high school with him. He has had a bad heart for nine years so it was not completely unexpected. Praise the Lord he and his wife had trusted the Lord Jesus Christ as their Saviour over thirty years ago. 2Corinthians 5:8 "We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord."
That season known as Christmas is soon approaching. The Christmas season is a little different here weather wise than where we grew up in Iowa. Here in Australia Christmas is celebrated during summer with days sometimes in the high 90ís and low 100ís. In the local paper for the 26th September was the article SERIOUS BUSHFIRE THREAT AHEAD. It said "Dubbo is facing a long, hot summer with a serious bushfire risk the Bureau of Meteorology has warned. Surrounded by already very dry country, and the driest August on record behind usÖ" The Bureau "Öis predicting perfect bushfire weather." The article went on to say that we could expect "more days like Sunday, when humidity fell to 25 per cent and wind blew at 75km/h through Dubbo." This "summer will be dry and hot - there will be extreme fire danger days west of the divide." In spite of the heat you will hear Dashing through The Snow and other such songs meant for the northern hemisphere being played throughout the shopping malls. In spite of the fact of its being summer and hot it is an opportunity to hand out gospel tracts centered on the Lord Jesusí miraculous virgin birth and why He came. We have five hundred Chick tracts (The Word Became Flesh and The Greatest Story Ever Told) on their way for distribution before December 25th. We plan to distribute these on the main street of our city one person at a time. Pray these tracts will be used of the Lord in bringing a lost soul to Him.
We have also received distressing news from Pamís sisters in Iowa saying their mother, Hazel; will need to have several toes on one of her feet amputated. She is ninety four years old and her circulation is not good. Of course this is probably only the commencement of worse to come so please remember Hazel in your prayers. Some Christian friends of ours from Montana were back to Iowa last summer to visit relatives and took the time to go and visit Hazel with the objective of sharing the gospel. They had never met her before but had a burden to share the gospel with her. They did not have a real opening during that visit but did leave some gospel sermon tapes with her. Hazel has never been open to the gospel and with her age now it is even harder. Thank you for praying for her.
As the New Year 2007 draws more rapidly on the horizon we would ask that you please consider our ministry if your mission budget allows. Brother Dan can inform you exactly where the monthly support stands. He may be reached by emailing email@example.com. We do thank each of you for your financial and prayer support and look forward to serving with you until Jesus comes. May the Lord "supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus" Philippians 4:19.
